and i shall

 

i climb the Mountain

planting each footstep

one in front of the other

in defined reverence

for such is the essence

of who i am

 

i am mindful

of the whisperings

that dance in the ether of my circumspection

as i plot my course

 

yes, there are wishes

there are aspirations

there are dreams

there are desires

and there is passion

along with the weariness

of this climb

yet i press on

 

i press not for the prize

that i may celebrate self

not glorify the end

nay, i press because . . .

because i hear a calling

that emanates

from the summit

a calling

that urges me

to expose my greater self

to the challenge

and i answer in my deed

in my climb

through my Soul

as it speaks to my heart

about self salvation

where i am bound

to this duty

to ascend

 

and i shall
